Mastering the Seasons: Why Smart Entrepreneurs Don't Sell Year-Round + The 'Golden Goose' of Success

How to Align Your Promotions with the Natural Rhythms of Your Market for Less Effort and Maximum Impact
It’s October 18th here in Idaho and we woke up to a little bit of snow on the ground this morning! Our Fall has been an absolute delight so far, but the realities of winter are sinking in because of a cold old wind that blew in and seems to want to stick around. It’s funny how Nature can be such a mirror for us to reflect what we, too, should be focusing on and when.
For example, with the coming of the frost there are all kinds of things that need to happen around our house. Our automatic waterers have to be flushed out, our live-in quarters horse trailer has to be winterized, and so do our sprinkler systems. Daylight hours are much shorter, and the weather outside requires us to pull out our coats, hats, and gloves.
Reverse ALL of that in the Spring! 🌷
As Nature shows us, there are also seasons in business. As entrepreneurs we sometimes think we should be promoting all year round, even though it might not be the ideal time to be promoting. Sometimes it is best to pull back, gather your resources, create all your assets, and then get prepared to pounce when it’s the ideal buying time for your clients or customers.
An obvious example of this is the RV levelers we were selling. January and February were very slow months, as were October and November. Pushing ads and trying to get people to buy when they simply weren’t in the mood to buy would have been a waste of time, energy, and money. Instead we focused on getting our inventory ready, creating marketing videos, and getting all our ad campaigns ready to rock and roll as soon as a hint of Spring was in the air and campers were excited about getting back outside.
Another example is our Relive the Magic at Home candle business! We know that 4th quarter is where we are going to make the majority of our sales. Starting in July we start to create our inventory, our ads, our social videos, buy packaging supplies, and ultimately get as prepared as we can for when the holiday buying begins! Other notable times would be Mother’s Day, Graduation, and any time the season changes for our seasonal scents.
Think about the ideal “buying” time for your customers and clients. Make a year long Promotion Calendar as an excel sheet and get organized around the seasons of your business. Focus on hitting those seasons as hard as you can, and pull back and prepare for them when it’s off-season!
The Untold Secret Behind Every Great Leader: Mastering Personal Storytelling 📖
Bo Eason teaches people how to tell their stories, or, on a deeper level, how to show up as your true, authentic self. Authenticity is the highest energetic vibration a human can have, and when you show up authentically it’s hard to look away from you!
*This is taken from Bo’s “Tell Your Story Now” guide that you can get at www.boeason.com.
At a training in London, Bo spoke about the importance of personal story in business. He ranted and raved about how having a personal story is the Golden Goose - the key to the success of their companies.
Another speaker at that same event ran an international consulting firm that provides strategic analysis of potential threats to financial markets through its 200 think tanks around the globe. His company comes up with statistics and analytics that determine where threats are coming from. Major world leaders, including the President of the United States, get his firm’s briefings on their desks every morning!
He approached Bo and said, “Do you know how right you are about peoples’ personal stories being the key to their success?”
He told Bo they did a study on leadership. They looked at influential figures going all the way back to the middle of the Roman Empire with Julius Caesar, through the 2012 presidential election. And… they didn’t just study politicians. For example, Lady Gaga was also a subject of the study, as was Osama bin Laden. The analytics proved that all of these leaders, as far back as Caesar, have certain qualities that allowed people to follow them.
Guess what the Number One quality was?
THE ABILITY TO TELL THEIR OWN STORY.
Their personal story was the connective tissue they needed to create the “know, like and trust” intimacy that allowed people to latch onto them and follow them!
What’s your story? Do you share it? We know we need to be better at this and challenge you to do the same!
You can go get Bo’s “Tell Your Story Now” guide to get started on your personal story. We can’t wait to hear yours!
Life Updates! 👶🏻
The first and most exciting news is that Baby Lyla made her grand appearance into the world! She is an absolute doll and is healthy and doing fantastic, as is Mercedes. We are thrilled beyond measure and are so excited about this new little addition to our family! Thanks to all who sent messages or commented their congratulations on our social media channels. Ya’ll are so awesome!
We took Xander to watch some pro pickleball tournaments in Vegas last weekend and had an absolute blast. Xander got a photo within the first few minutes of walking in with his favorite player, Tyson McGuffin. How cool is that? He also snagged some photos with other top players, including Anna-Leigh Waters and the GOAT: Ben Johns.
Cobe and Kenya (our other kiddos) are home this week to see baby Lyla and Kenya’s husband will be here tomorrow. Is there anything better than a full house with all your kids home? Nope!
We had an amazing time at our Inner Circle meetings in Boise and are putting the pedal to the metal to get our Magnetic program out to the world!
